About DJ Matt Murphy

I was born and raised in Charleston, WV, and I also have familial ties in Milwaukee, WI. I attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV where I earned a BFA in Music Performance. In 2017, I began my career at WVRC Media in Charleston, currently serving as Assistant Promotions Manager, Producer on 580-WCHS, and radio personality on 99.9FM V100. Leaning on my experiences as a musician and broadcaster, I bring a strong passion and excitement to my work as a mobile DJ. I’ve always been deeply passionate about music, and being able to share these interests with people from all over our region is truly a great honor!

I am an avid traveler, currently looking to visit all 50 states (15 more to go). Train travel is always my preferred mode for long-distance trips! I also love to read, and I dabble some with photography as well. Lately, I’ve been going old-school with that, shooting on 35mm film. I’m a bit of a punk rock/ska kid at heart, my favorite bands being Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish. I’m also a Major League Baseball fan, rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and, of course, the Milwaukee Brewers.
